Touch a Truck, Dublin

If you've been a reader for years then you may remember when I use to take Little Man to the local Touch a Truck events.  My cousin and her family even traveled to visit for one so her little boy could enjoy it.  If you haven't been around that long, local cities around here do an event called "Touch a Truck".  They basically get all sorts of different trucks and have them sit in a big lot.  Then the kids can climb up in them, honk the horn, pretend to drive and the moms and dads can take pictures!  The event is free and the kids love it!

Different cities do it at different times of the year.  Some are during the week (the ones I took Little Man to) and some are on the weekends.  Most of the local ones have already taken place, but we were able to attend one this last weekend.  It was on the smaller side compared to others I've been to, but Olivia is small and she doesn't have a clue what she's missing.  It worked for us!

There was a huge paper shredder truck and you could actually bring your stuff to be shredded if you wanted.

Checking out the fire truck!

My loves!

The school bus!

We had a little incident at the house right before we left.  She got injured and was rather upset, so she was being a little obstinate with the picture taking.  I promise she was having fun.  She was running around with a smile on her face when it wasn't picture time. :)

Walking through the ambulance

Ha ha!  You'd think we were torturing her. This picture makes me laugh!

We were waiting in line to check out a truck and all of the sudden this helicopter started circling over us.  Michael pointed it out to Olivia.  Then before we knew it, it was coming in for a landing!  Everyone rushed over there!  After it landed you could get in, just like the other vehicles.  The line was very long though, so we just looked from a distance.

Standing in the scoop of the backhoe.  Michael and Olivia both climbed up and honked the horn a few times too!

Driving a semi!  Watch out!

In a hummer.

There were a few other vehicles, but those were our highlights. I'm sure it will get more and more fun for Olivia as she gets older.  Regardless, it was a fun little activity for our Saturday morning.
