Our First Play date

Olivia was in need of some new shoes.  She only had sandals when we moved here, and even those were getting too small.  Plus, when we headed to MOPS on Tuesday it was only 56 degrees outside.  I knew the cooler days were coming more quickly than I was going to be ready for.

We hit the mall to get fitted and Stride Rite and ended up making a play date out of it.  My friend Laurie met us there, with Pete, the little boy she nannies.  We had lunch first and then hit up the play land.  It wasn't busy at all, which was nice!

Not only was it a fun social outing for her, but it was good for her to be climbing and "risk taking" going down the slides.  She's getting better! :)

After all that fun we got to the shoe shopping.  Stride Rite said she was an 8 1/2 wide, but they hardly had any wide selections.  We settled on a regular 8 1/2, which seemed to have plenty of room.  We also found a pair of 9's at Target that were smaller than the 8 1/2 shoes.  They seemed to work.  If it were up to Olivia, we would have bought the whole aisle of shoes.  It is our luck, but they never seem to have her size in the shoes we want.  I'm going to get some more squeaker shoes off of Amazon.  The two pair we have now will work for any random cold days though.

  1. I am in the same boat, kind of. All of Sadie's sandals are getting too small & since it is September, I am trying to get her ready for fall. However, it is quite the opposite here because it is still 100 outside! I can't spare to spend the money while it's still so dang hot :( I keep thinking that one of these days it will cool off.....
