Six Months--Logan

Logan Michael, you are SIX months old!

What have you been up to?

*You weigh 17 pounds, which is the 30th percentile.
(Did you all read that?!  30th! So let's stop talking about my "big baby". Mmkay? Thanks)
*You are 27 inches long, which is the 66th percentile
*Your head is 44.5 cm , which is the 82nd percentile
(NOTE: Olivia was an inch and a half taller and 3 pounds heavier by this point.!)

*You are still wearing size 3 to 6 month clothing.  I'm hoping we can just make it the rest of the summer in that size, so that I can just get fall stuff for the next size up.  We will see.  You moved to size 6 to 9 months footie pajamas last week, though.

*You are still wearing size 3 diapers.  We've started using night time diapers too.  Now that you can roll over you have started to leak.  The night time diapers have helped!

*You are still drinking 5 bottles a day, with 6 ounces in each one.

*You know what your bottle is when you see it.  You get excited and try to grab for it.  I've started teaching you the sign language for milk.

*You have started solids.  You don't eat a ton yet.  You are just learning how it all works.  You seem to enjoy it, but you definitely stop yourself when you are done.  You are only eating about an ounce a day at this time.  We've also started the signs for "eat", "more", and "all done".

*We are on a great schedule.  You go to bed around 7 and wake up around 7.  You take two naps a day.  Each one usually lasts around an hour and a half, but sometimes one of them goes longer.

*You learned how to roll from your back to your belly this month.  Now that you can do that, you sleep most of the night on your tummy.

*You have started to learn to sit up by yourself.  We work on it each day.  You can last for a few minutes, but can't be trusted to sit by yourself.  Someone needs to be close by to catch you if need be.

*You got your two bottom teeth this month.  You still are a drooling mess, and you love to stick things in your mouth.  You have some favorites, but your hand will always do too.

*You have started to hold your bottle on your own.  You don't do it every time, but you do a pretty good job when you want to hold it.

*You really seem to like baths.  You've started kicking and splashing more.

*You try to pull yourself up into the sitting position, so you always have to be strapped in to things!  It looks sort of like a sit up, and I am sure that it is helping with those stomach muscles.

*You like to stick your tongue out or make noises with it.

*You have found your toes!

*You are a sweet boy.  You are pretty chill and easy going.

*You love your mommy!  You want to be able to see me at all times.  Although, you have warmed up to daddy too.  Your face lights up when you see him for the first time each day!

Happy 6 Months!  We love you, buddy!

(Cupcake pictures coming!)

(both trying to lunge out of their chairs)

Logan's doctor's appointment went well.  Everything checked out great.  She was pleased with his eating, sleeping, and progress over the past 2 months.

I had to do an ASQ for him.  He scored on the lower side for fine motor skills and social skills.  They want me to practice with him and let them know it two weeks how it is going.  Honestly, I find it a little ridiculous.  Two of the questions for the fine motor were "when you put a small object in front of baby like a cheerio, do they pick it up".  Um. I don't put small objects in front of my 6 month old that sticks everything in his mouth.  So when you put no for 2 answers, that is going to make it look like he is doing poorly.  And for the social skills, I can't MAKE him start having stranger danger, nor can I practice stranger danger.  So I'm not even really bothering with it.

He got two shots.
