I'm baaaaaaaaaack!

Did you miss me?  I missed you!  Writing a daily post on here has become part of my life and routine.  I'm glad to be back and into the swing of things.

I thought I'd give you a little overview of our vacation, but before I do that I want to share with you the sweetest thing Little Man did before I left.

Have you heard of the book The Kissing Hand?  It's a super cute book about a raccoon that doesn't want to go to school.  His mom reassures him that she'll be with him and that it will be ok.  She kisses his hand and tells him to put it to his cheek when he misses her.  The raccoon likes it so much that he kisses his mom's hand back.  Little Man and his mom have been doing this ever since the book was introduced to them at the beginning of this school year.  I told Little Man that I was going to be gone for a week and miss him so much when I'm gone.  He said, "Don't be sad Befany.  You can feel me if I kiss your hand".  Then he grabbed it and kissed it.  Seriously.  Melt my heart, I love that kid! :)  Including the weekends, I was off a total of nine days.  I ended up either texting or emailing back and forth with K six out of the nine days.  I love that we are cool like that.  They love me and consider me family and I love them.  I have the best job!

Well anyway... our trip to Vegas was good.  It had some high points and some low points, but overall it was good to get away.  We both kind of feel like it was fun to go and see and experience Vegas, but it's one of those things that you can say you did and then move on.  At least for us anyway.  We are glad to have gone, but probably won't be going back anytime soon.  I guess if we were big drinkers or gamblers that would be one thing, but we are more of the sight seeing type.  We saw. :)

We did a lot, and I don't think I can get it in all in one post.  I'm going to spread my vacation posts out over the next week or so.  Enjoy.

We got in on Sunday after a full day of traveling.  We checked in to The Stratosphere and took a quick nap.

Going from East Coast time to West Coast time is rough business.  Especially after a four hour flight, a layover, and an hour flight.

After our nap we jumped on the Deuce (the bus) and headed down the strip to the Luxor.  We are smiling in this picture because we didn't know yet how much the Deuce SUCKED.

We went to The Luxor because we had heard they had an amazing buffet for super cheap.  This is not the case.  We were told numerous times before going that all the casinos had super cheap buffets--as in $7 or $8.  This is a lie.  They are more like $25.

We did a quick tour of The Luxor and decided to walk next door to The Excalibur hoping for a cheaper buffet.  We didn't find one, but ended up eating there anyway.  At that point we had traveled 12 hours, took an hour and a half nap and spent an hour on The Deuce.  It was time to eat.
Part of the Excalibur and part of MGM across the street.

After dinner at The Excalibur we walked over to New York, New York

I really liked New York, New York.  I don't know why we didn't take any pictures of the inside, but it was pretty neat in there.  It really did look like the streets of New York. We went to listen to the famous dueling pianos, but you had to go in a bar to be close.  We didn't want to be forced to get a drink.  Plus, it was super loud.  We listened from the outside.  It had open walls, so we could still see and hear just fine!  Then we I played some craps and then we called it a night.  It had been a LONG day at that point.

The next morning we got up bright and early and headed to The MGM.
Before going there we checked out the 3 level Coke store and the 4 level M&M World.

At Coke they had a thing called Taste of the World where you could get 16 sodas from all over the world for $7.  We decided to give it a try.

We had a good time trying them all out.  All except the Beverly from Italy.  It tasted like straight up hard alcohol.  I ended up spitting my back into the cup.  It was SO gross.

Right before this picture was taken.... my freaking crown fell out.  Ugh.  So over my dentist.

All the M&M stuff was cool to look at.  I had been to the store in New York, but Michael had never been.  The Vegas store is the biggest one. They even had a little exhibit to go through and a 3D movie.
Of course I had to get pictures of the Kyle Busch Nascar for Little Man.
The hood was signed by Kyle.
I sent a picture to K of me standing in front of it for Little Man.
When she showed him he asked if I was bringing it home for him.  HA!
Good thing I did get him the little version of this car.

More coming later this week....

  1. looks like you had a lot of fun!!! I think I'm with you...I've never been to Vegas, but I'm thinking if I did it would be the last time! My parents just went (and got Ryan a hot wheels version of the M&M car in your picture!) they said it was fun sight seeing but would never go back either!

Anyway...the soda thing looked fun to try and I bet it was straight up alcohol! The Venician looked awesome too...I would love to go to Venice too! I'm glad to got this vacation and glad you had fun and yes we missed you!!!
