We clear the shelves every time we go. No. I am not a hoarder. We buy one case (6 bottles) and then the 6 bottles that they have for sale individually. That is all the carry at one time. I find it quite annoying. One bottle is 32 oz and right now Olivia is drinking anywhere from 30 to 36 ounces a day. Therefore, we have to go back every week and a half to get more.
While we were clearing the shelf today Michael noticed that the cases were on SALE! What?!? GASP! Alimentum is actually on sale! I completely and wholeheartedly contribute this to my email to Babies R Us. :) It probably had absolutely nothing to do with it, but it makes me feel better! :) Anyway, the sale was a case for $45 as opposed to $54. In a sense it was like buying 5 bottles and getting the 6th one free. That is a good deal in our situation and since it NEVER comes on sale, I wanted to try to stock up. So I went and asked if there was any other formula in the back. No. I asked if there was a way they could order some. Sure, it would cost $20 in shipping. Yeah, that kind of negates the sale. I asked if they could order more for their shelves in general, since I clear it out every week and a half. No. They get sent what ever the distribution center wants to send them and they have no say. Ay yi yi!!!
So after a few laps around the store tracking down the right people (3 different managers), doing all sorts of craziness to get around the system, having the SLOWEST girl ever helping us, calling 1-800 numbers to fix a problem, and on and on.... we finally were able to order 8 cases that will be shipped to our house and we don't have to pay for shipping. Praise the Lord!! Now if only it wouldn't have taken two hours. (You think I'm kidding---but I'm not!) I guess in this case, our time was worth the money saved.
Oh, and I got another email this week from Babies R Us. Guess what was in it?
