I can't always play with her every time she wants, but I decided I'd take her out with me for a fun little night. I actually needed to run a few errands, so I took her along and made it fun. I told her it was a girls date and that we were going to go look at princesses. She thought the idea was fantastic. She kept singing, "It's special girl time. The boys are at home. It's a girl's night. The boys are at home!"
We hit up the princess aisle at Target. It's one of her favorite places to check out these days. She found an Anna doll (from Frozen) right away.
She was looking for an Elsa doll, but there were non to be found.
The Frozen section was picked over! She has been promised an Anna and Elsa dress for her birthday. The Anna dress was purchased a while ago and is sitting in our basement. The Elsa dress is proving to be a bit more difficult of a find.
She checked out the Rapunzel and Ariel section as well.
We went an aisle over and she found the Little People princesses as well. My how time has changed. At Christmastime she didn't even know what a princess was and now she's a tad bit obsessed.
She read Sofia the First books in the cart for the rest of our visit.
Back in Texas when we actually had just Olivia and Mommy trips to Target, we would sometimes share a cream cheese danish from Starbucks. So I thought it would be a fun little treat. Little did we know that the computer was down at the Starbucks counter. She got a treat of her choice FOR FREE, and I got a FREE caramel macchiato. You can't beat that!
We headed to Meijer next.
I had to get a prescription from the Pharmacy and they gave Olivia a sucker. She was thrilled.
We didn't stay long, because it was getting late. We picked up some fruit and checked out. The cashier thought that Olivia was just the cutest thing ever, so she gave her a penny to ride the horse. (Which we were going to do anyway, but the cashier really wanted to treat her.)
She was pretty happy about the ride.
The only thing she came home with (besides a sugar high) was a new Frozen place mat. She was so excited that she wanted to go and put it at her spot right away. (She wouldn't stop sticking her tongue out. I have no idea why. Please excuse her.)
She had a great "special girl's night". She's still talking about it. We will have to do it more often.
