Change

We headed to a local metro park on Sunday afternoon to enjoy the nice weather.
Olivia thought we were going to a playground park, and she wasn't sure about it at first...

But she decided it was fun!

We got to check out all of the nice changing colors.

We made our way to a little tree house area.  Some bigger kids were walking on this bridge all crazy, and she was just not sure about it.  She needed A LOT of encouragement (and maybe a nudge) to go across, but she did it!

She and I went walking along the little paths for a bit.

and stopped for this quick photo op!

We met back up with Logan and Boppa, and then Boppa and Olivia climbed up the tree house.

Be still my heart.

Seriously... They are just the cutest!

Olivia and Boppa kept playing with the tree house and Logan got to play with the leaves.

Or eat them ;)

An attempt at playing in the leaves

Then we went to check out other areas of the park.

My camera battery died, but I was still able to get a few shots on with my phone.

Olivia said, "Oh look!  A bench!" and then posed herself like that all on her own.

Logan enjoys being outside, and is always happy to take in new scenery.

More playing in the leaves

Do you see that little dot down there.  Olivia loved running down the hill.  Of course.

No running for us!

There go Boppa and Olivia!

Kids Say the Darndest Thing #2

Olivia: "We need to buy the Aladdin DVD"
Me: "There are a lot of scary parts."
Olivia: "Boppa can get rid of them" (He edits the digital copies and takes out all of the questionable parts.
Me: "That is pretty special that you have a Boppa that can do that for you."
Olivia: "Yeah. Well, that's why I have him in my family."

She went through a little Tinkerbell phase where she watched all of the fairy movies on Netflix.  She especially liked the one where Tinkerbell found out that Periwinkle is her sister.  She comments that they sometimes call Tinkerbell "Tink" and Periwinkle "Peri" and how those are nicknames.  One night at dinner she randomly says, "They call me Oliv" and then "That's just a nickname."

"We need to calm ourselves down and listen to what God says."

Some of her favorite "big people" words are "exactly" ("That is exactly what we need to do."), absolutely, ("I absolutely had fun") and "certainly".

She kept telling the little boy D that I babysit to stop doing something.  Then she said, "Do it again, and see what happens". (Of course, he didn't even hear her and wasn't paying attention and she just moved on to something else.)

She has been watching strawberry shortcake and she loves to call one of the characters "Apple Ducklin'" instead of Apple Dumplin.  No matter how many times I tell her...

To Logan "C'mon. Hug me.  You're suppose to be my snuggle bug!"

She also told D to "relax on the couch, because I need a break".  Thank you, Boppa! :)

Photo Dump Friday

Getting ready to go to ballet on a cold day.  Photo bombed by brother again.

just chilling in the jumperoo

I took both kids to the grocery store, and I was trying to take a picture of them for Michael.  Logan wasn't looking at all, but Olivia looked so cute sitting in the back of the cart.

Riding the 1 cent horse at the grocery store.  Doesn't she look perfectly posed?

Reading books before bed while big sis is at swimming... we don't read to him nearly as much as we did to Olivia, so we are trying to be better about it.

She found these glasses in her room.  I told her they were for when she was a baby and they don't fit, but she insisted on playing with them. Goof.

Mowing the lawn for Boppa. ;)

Enjoying being outside

"What is this thing?"

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!

I was laying on the floor next to him, and trying to take a picture.  I cut most of myself out, but he looked cute!

Skipping nap to go to a Doctor's appointment for mommy.  He did GREAT and everyone just loved him!

Painting a Pumpkin

We had a 40 degree drop in temps last weekend, so we spent most of the weekend just hanging out at home.  I had to run out for a quick appointment, so I stopped by Kroger and bought a $4 pumpkin.  We will definitely still be going to the patch, but will likely use that pumpkin to carve.  I thought painting a pumpkin would be a great indoor activity for us.  Olivia agreed.

Michael painted the smiley face, and I did the "S".  About a minute later Olivia ran her brush all around the pumpkin without even looking and that was the end of my S. :/

We let it dry for a few days, and then it was time to add the jewels.

We used the leftovers from last year and some sequins.  She preferred the jewels from last year and used them all up.

She kept commenting on how beautiful it was!

Note: She does wear clothes other than pajamas. ;)  It is just easier to do these projects when Logan is sleeping, and since his first nap of the day is at 9 she is usually still in "just waking up" mode.
