February Re-cap Photo Dump

Well, I already shared our big events of the month--Logan's birthday and Valentine's day.  Here is what else we were up to.

Olivia's teacher sends pictures from school.  Here she is touching an octopus for "O" week. :)

Where's Logan?

Sometimes... when you need to get things done and this kid just wants to leech onto your leg... you have to be creative!  Water and sponges it is!

Sporting a fresh new haircut for the Superbowl!

Our life group hosted a Superbowl party. This media room is usually where we watch our lesson videos and then discuss, while the children are downstairs being babysat. We still had the babysitters (a-maz-ing!), but instead of watching a Bible lesson, we ate all sorts of yummy food and watched some football instead!

On our way into MOPS

 Snuggle bugs!

We've had some warm weather this month, so we did some playing outside.  I can't believe we had so much ice and snow last year at this time!

One day I heard Logan calling for me.  That's pretty normal around here.  Olivia went into his room and then started freaking out, so I went to see what was up.  Oh, he just climbed up on his changing table by himself.  As you can see, he was pretty proud of himself.  Stinker!

We put some of these extra shelves in Logan's closet to hold our educational toys and such.  One day he came out with a pair of shoes (usually on that top shelf) and I couldn't figure out how in the world he had gotten them.  Oh, he took his train bucket, turned it upside down, and climbed right up.  Ay yi yi!

He insisted on getting the pattern blocks out of his closet.  This is usually an Olivia activity, but he went right to work.  They aren't matched up perfectly, but the right shapes are on top of the right spots.  Pretty smart!

We've been to the doctor 3 times this month!  Olivia had some sort of funk going on, which ended up in a sinus infection.  She was put on an antibiotic, but it didn't kick it.  Then Logan started in on the terrible cough and congestion.  This is us waiting at the Target minute clinic.  Olivia got put on another antibiotic.  She's been on more antibiotics this month than in all other 4 years of her life combined.  Seriously!  Logan wasn't put on anything, thankfully.

Love these two!  We don't match often around here, but one day I realized they both had Nike jump suits (bought at different consignment sales!).  So they were twinsies for a day! :)

I had to document this little gem from a mom's night out!

After dropping our stuff of at the consignment sale, we headed to lunch on a patio and playing at the outdoor play place.

We ended our month with a birthday party to Play Street Museum.

She spent a lot of time playing school! :)

I saw this mug online and sent the screenshot to Michael.  It pretty much sums it up for me! Ha!

Prestonwood Baptist Play Place

So for those of you from not around here, we have a huge church here called Prestonwood Baptist.  Jack Graham is the pastor.  It's televised and all that.  I think there are 40,000 people that go there or something.  Anyway, the facility is really nice.  They have a Christian school and all sorts of other stuff.

Well, our church moms group just had a play date there at the beginning of this month.
And guess what?  It was FREE!  It was like a McDonald's playground but bigger, better, and cleaner!

It was on a Tuesday, so Olivia was at preschool and I just had this cutie to watch!

I'm not normally one to climb up into play places, but Logan went climbing and I was concerned about some of the coming down areas.  So I followed him.  The place was so nice and roomy that there were all sorts of moms up there, and I didn't have to duck and crawl around.  I could walk in most places!

There was a place near the top that had two pretty big slides right next to each other.  We went down side by side.
It was a little too fast for this guy and he fell back and bonked his head.  He's tough, though, but I made him sit on my lap for all of the other rides down it.

It was a great little place to play.  There were moms from our group and moms that were just there to play, and even with all of us there we didn't feel on top of each other.  There weren't any kids acting crazy.  It was just nice and easy.

In fact, we are going back this week with our MOPS table.  I love that this church is using their facility for things like this!

January Photo Dump

So besides the Zoo, park, MOPS play dates and a birthday party.... here is what we were up to last month:

This is what happens when you empty out of a tote of maternity clothes for donations.

Or this

Just a boy... wearing his Wonder Woman headband upside down... playing with a doll house

This one cracks me up.  So Olivia has a princess game on her kindle where you can move the princess around, along with some other little animals and decorations.  You can record yourself telling a story while you move the characters around, and then you can play it back and watch/listen.  Well, she went through this phase where she was making a terrible screeching noise.  She recorded it on the kindle and then kept replaying it.  She thought she was hilarious.  Her Boppa did not agree.  So he took the kindle away.  She drew this picture of her being sad, and then in the top corner is her kindle with a "no" sign through it. LOL!

Waking up is hard for both of us! ;)

I walked into preschool one day and heard all these awful noises.  Come to find out the kids got those New Years horns.  This was one time where I was thankful that there are things my child just does not "get".  She could not figure out how to make it make the noise properly.  I was not sad about this delay. ;)

Using her knives to help cut apples for dinner.  Yes.  My kids are quite expressive.

We had this whole big talk about trying new foods.  I made her ants on a log a she was so excited to try it.  Then absolutely refused to even try the celery. Ugh.

I mean, how can you not laugh?! LOL!

He's probably going to hate me for putting this on the internet, but one day he decided to just take his pants off.  Why?  I have no idea.  Then he put Olivia's crown on his waist as a belt of sorts.  He's a goof.

We brought "Hootie" the owl home from preschool for a week.  He came in that rolling suit case and then we had to write in a journal about his adventures. (Thank you, Michael for completing that homework assignment!)  Olivia was thrilled to have him at our house.  Side note: can you tell what her favorite color is?  Shoes... coat... shirt... sweatshirt... headband....

Just checking on his belly button.  He's obsessed.

Olivia's school had Donuts for Dads one morning, so Michael took her to school and got to have a little special time with her.  Of course, she was thrilled.  He is her "first favorite member of the family" after all.

Doesn't everyone eat lunch with sunglasses on that are too small?

We've had some nice weather this month.  So one day after preschool pick up, we headed out back with popsicles to play in the sunshine!

Exploring the beautiful dead tree...

That has us caught up on all of the January pictures.

We had a pretty busy month.  We did so much more that I don't even have pictures for!

*We celebrated New Years with our friends, the Carrillo's.  It was low key, and not on New Years Eve.  But it worked and was fun.

*We stayed late after church two weeks in a row to complete the Belong 101 and 201 class and are now members of our church!

*We had two amazing MOPS meetings where I made a cute Valentine's craft, ate yummy food, and heard sweet devotionals from some of our mentor moms.

*I had a mom's night out with the ladies from my MOPS table.  We just met at a Mexican restaurant and had chips and queso and guac and chatted it up for a few hours.

*I babysat one Saturday night for our friends so they could have a date night, and then Alycia babysat for us on another Saturday night so we could have one.  We are trying to do this once a month and so far it is working out nicely!

*We had two life group meetings.  We really love our church and our life group.  Olivia can't wait to go. We are planting roots and building great relationships. We are doing a Matt Chandler series on Phillipians that is really good!

*We had an extra Sunday night service at our church that they do every few months.  It's a worship service with a short devotional from the pastor.  It was our first time going to one of those.  I was still working on Sunday nights the last time they had one.

*I also went on a mom's night out with our church mom's group.  We met at a cute little local coffee shop.  I know a handful of moms from my life group and play dates I have attended, but I got to meet even more women from my church.

All that while still being a mom, wife, home maker... and working 20 to 23 hours a week!!!
(Now you know why my blog gets neglected. ha!)

Hope Park

Olivia is always asking to go to the park.  Maybe I'm a wimp, but I don't like taking them by myself.  They go in opposite directions.  Logan has no fear and thinks he can climb whatever, and Olivia wants someone playing with her.  So we try to go when Boppa can go with us.  We had some beautiful weather, so we spent a Sunday afternoon at the park.
We went to Hope Park.  Logan and I were on the toddler side, and Olivia and Michael were on the big kids side.  Logan spotted Michael on top of the play place and was waving at him.

Michael and Olivia ran around the big side, while I spent my time spotting Logan.  He was climbing up ladders, going down the big slides, and crawling through tunnels.

After about an hour or so, we met up and the kids did one of the big swings together.

We brought a picnic lunch.  After eating, Olivia wanted to run in a field.  Some people were playing and others were flying kites.

As we ran in the field, we remembered that there was a pond down the hill.  My kids are always drawn to water, so we had to go check it out.

There was a trail to walk, so we decided to check it out.  Olivia found a big hill she wanted to climb.

Whatever sissy does, this one needs to do.  They just kept climbing and then running down.

Who doesn't love a sunny January day?!

We walked a little bit of the path before it was time to leave and get Logan home for nap.  We hope to go back and spend more time exploring!
